Tide pools and ravens, each iconic in the Pacific Northwest, together reveal a rich story of coastal interconnection and resilience. Tide pools host diverse marine life in ever-changing conditions, while ravens, as highly intelligent scavengers and opportunistic feeders, often visit tide pools at low tide to forage for exposed marine life such as mollusks, crustaceans, and fish. Their presence contributes to the nutrient cycle, as they help break down organic material and disperse it across habitats.
Together, tide pools and ravens embody the dynamic balance of nature and culture on the edge of land and ocean.
